Family Life and Sexuality Education Teacher

Position Summary: The Family Life and Sexuality Education Teacher will serve as a leader in educating young people across Children’s Aid Community Schools, and Community Centers utilizing evidence-based curricula. Emphasis will center on inclusiveness and engagement of students in appropriate age and stage sexuality education and sexual expression, free from mythology and misinformation. The Family Life and Sexuality Education Teacher will support and work to empower young people in both Middle School and High School to make informed, healthy decisions about sexuality and relationships. This role will report to the Manager of Family Life and Sexuality Education.

Responsibilities: 

• Facilitate classes for students and provide staff development when requested;
• Engage students in conversations related to sexuality education and sexual expression;
• Deliver and assess FLSE curricula across all Children’s Aid sites;
• Engage in continuous learning to ensure their knowledge is up to date on all topics related to sexuality education, sexual expression and reproductive health;
• Create and track all pre-test and post-test surveys and report on student outcomes annually;
• Gather and analyze data to drive best practices in FLSE;
• Collect data to support division goals and align with organizational outcomes;
• Ensure engagement data is entered into ETO and/or other online data platforms accurately and in a timely manner;
• Attend content development trainings, capacity building workshops, and other trainings as necessary;
• Maintain commitment to ongoing development of cultural responsiveness;
• Perform other related duties as required for the success of the program.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in sexuality and health education, social work, counseling or related field;
• Minimum of three years of related experience with provision of comprehensive sexuality education to an adolescent population;
• Experience working with Middle School and High School youth;
• High level of organization skills, and ability to multitask;
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
• Strong presentation, facilitation and training skills;
• Skills in collaboration, change management, and conflict resolution;
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail;
• Experience speaking in front of large groups;
• Willing to travel locally to Children’s Aid Schools and Centers.
