An Excellent Opportunity

We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist who can help us successfully tell the Girl Scout story, to a broad range of audiences through digital and print campaigns. The right candidate will successfully promote the Girl Scout brand by creating, writing, and editing content, developing email marketing campaigns, and creating video and online content for all platforms.

Here’s What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop strategic campaigns to generate leads and retain existing Girl Scout members.
  • Design graphics and write copy for digital and print.
  • Photograph events to support our photography library.
  • Create multimedia content such as videos, polls, and other design elements to enhance the website and social media channels.
  • Develop content (images and messaging) for Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn.
  • Monitor and report on site usage, digital metrics, and statistics on Council’s website and email marketing campaigns to ensure acceptable performance and user accessibility.
  • Recommend content improvements to attract more users and deepen the level of public engagement.
  • Assist with maintaining website.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to effectively communicate program content to members using digital and print marketing.

Is this you?

  • Have 2+ years of digital and print marketing experience through jobs or internships
  • Creative and comfortable working with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Self-motivated and efficient with strong time-management skills
  • Energetic team-player who is ready to take on multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superb project management
  • Known as a strong editor
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office; InDesign, Illustrator, Photo Shop, video editing software
  • Have knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager for website content
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of people, from girls to executives
  • Passionate about marketing and communications
  • Passionate about girl leadership
  • Ability to maintain a varied work schedule including occasional evenings and weekends
  • Have access to automobile for occasional travel
