Position Overview

City Year Chicago is seeking a talented individual to join our Impact Analytics team as a Manager, reporting to the Director of Impact Analytics. The Impact Analytics team, together with the Learning & Development team and Student Success Coaching team, provide support services to members of the City Year Chicago staff team and all AmeriCorps members. For more information on City Year Chicago please visit: http://www.cityyear.org/chicago This position will play a critical role by assisting the Director to ensure Impact Staff and AmeriCorps Members [ACMs] are trained in data collection practices and review protocols and to promote data fluency throughout City Year Chicago.

Reporting to the Director of Impact Analytics, the Manager, Impact Analytics will work closely with members of the Service Teams to:

• Provide administrative support to the IA department to ensure programs and systems are running smoothly and site-wide data needs are being met
• Manage communication and track data requests between Impact Analytics and other departments
• Deliver presentations about the IA department, data programs and internal systems
• Provide supports as needed to teams and individuals regarding data and related technologies

Cross-Departmental Support 

• Work with other departments to share information, gather data needs and manage requests
• Manage the collection of service-related stories of impact for Development and Marketing campaigns. 
• Support the Operations Team with logistics of training days to meet AmeriCorps Member needs. 
• Manage and track data report requests from staff across the site

Department Administration

• Create required trackers and documents to support data collection
• Assist in start-of-year/end-of-year systems management, data validation and archiving
• Maintain public IA Department calendar and communicate changes to site
• Manage site’s compliance with Student Data Privacy Policy

Training

• Present trainings to staff and AmeriCorps members on their data responsibilities and CY software tutorials
• Collaborate with the Learning and Development (L&D) team with data training and scheduling
• Manage, organize and grow library of IA trainings

Communications

• Communicate with school-based staff regarding data needs, audits and error correction
• Work with Impact Managers and Impact Directors on scheduling data reviews
• Provide technical support during office hours and by request
• Assist in preparing data for external audiences

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or related experience 
• Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred. Minimum requirement: intermediate knowledge of Excel and willingness to learn new systems
• Experience with PowerBI strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of K-12 education and Chicago Public Schools
• Strong interest in data science and data visualizations
• Experience with performance metrics and surveys
• Comfort with (and an interest in) collaborating and presenting information to internal and external audiences
• Comfortable with MS Office suite of software products, e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint
• Data visualization or statistical software experience preferred (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, R)
• Effective communication and organizational skills; must demonstrate attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Training/facilitation experience preferred)
• Experience managing multiple projects or tasks with competing deadlines
• Ability to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment
• Belief in youth as agents of social change
• City Year/AmeriCorps/Peace Corps experience is a plus
