ABOUT THE POSITION

Millennial Action Project (MAP) has an immediate opening for a Development Manager. The individual in this role will manage event-based fundraising and maintain a portfolio of corporate supporters, while assisting with fundraising activities across foundation, individual, and corporate giving portfolios.

The Development Manager will play a leading role in fundraising for MAP’s marquee events: the Rising Star Awards and the Future Summit. The Development Manager will also work closely with the Director of Development to develop the prospect/donor pipeline, data integrity, and fundraising systems MAP needs to power our ambitious 5-year strategy and raise $2MM+ annually.

On a day-to–day basis, the Development Manager will be responsible for 1) recruiting, cultivating, and stewarding supporters of the Rising Star Awards, Future Summit and other local events featuring MAP’s network of state legislators; 2) accurate and timely processing of gifts, gift acknowledgement, and data-entry in EveryAction; 3) writing and research, including preparing materials for events, donor calls/meetings, donor communications, as well as researching and qualifying prospective donors. The Development Manager will also support MAP CEO Layla Zaidane as needed to support in-person and virtual fundraising events, meetings, and travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Development Manager will work with the Director of Development, CEO, COO, and other staff members to:

• Manage fundraising for the Rising Star Awards, Future Summit, and other local MAP events
• Develop new relationships with corporate and association partners and strengthen existing relationships
• Secure in-kind donations and build relationships with in-kind donors
• Manage and maintain EveryAction (donor database) to ensure up-to-date relationship tracking and giving projections, including timely data entry, gift processing, data clean-up and records updates, reporting, and analysis of donor/giving patterns
• Track MAP’s prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship of individual, corporate, and foundation supporters
• Prepare donor research and provide administrative support for CEO’s donor meetings, travel, and other donor engagements
• Draft donor communications and development collateral (i.e fundraising emails, quarterly reports, project summaries, invoices, etc.)
• Maintain all administrative development activities and maintain donor files, including electronic files
• Process gifts and prepare acknowledgements letters
• Support other areas as needed, including in-person and virtual event planning, supporting grant writing and reporting, and soliciting gifts
