Position Summary

The Development Assistant supports Aim High’s development team operations and reports to the Director of Development. This position has a focus on data integrity and constituent management and is responsible for donor acknowledgments, prospect research, stewardship and event support. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, update and ensure the accuracy and integrity of constituent information in sophisticated donor database (Salesforce) and liaise with team members to maintain data and support moves management and stewardship activities. 
  • Prepare and send weekly gift acknowledgment letters. Prepare and send pledge reminders and invoices as necessary.
  • Support the Development Associate with the weekly gift batch and monthly reporting. Maintain digital records for all grant agreements and gift documentation.
  • Support all mailings, which include but is not limited to bi-annual appeals, event invitations and in honor and memory of donation cards.
  • Support the Development and Marketing & Communications teams with email marketing efforts which include the management of constituent email and affiliations, bounce, open and click rates of development and alumni communications.
  • Provide event coordination and support for virtual and in-person events, annual summer open houses, career days, and other donor events as needed.
  • Support annual audit requests and with the Development Associate and Director of Finance.
  • Prepare board packets for quarterly trustee meetings and oversee maintenance of the board portal as needed.
  • Monitor stock of mail supplies and branded items for donor stewardship and order more as necessary (including stamps, envelopes, letterhead, etc.).
  • Manage incoming and out-going mail/deliveries for the Development team. Process returned mail and update or remove invalid addresses in Salesforce. Research donors to identify new addresses.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years experience, office administrative and/or development preferred.
  • Demonstrated database experience (Salesforce is preferred).
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Commitment to the mission of Aim High.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Job Details:

  • Reports To: Director of Development
  • Job Location: San Francisco, CA (virtual until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted)
  • Classification: Full-Time Non-Exempt
  • Compensation: Salary starts at $50K commensurate with experience
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/retirement and generous paid vacation and sick time 
  • Priority Deadline: January 31, 2022
