    The UDW Resource Center (URC) is a dynamic nonprofit workers center that provides organizing support, training and education with caregivers in the public and private sectors throughout California. URC is a space for these workers to organize themselves for better wages and working conditions, to change the care economy to benefit all Californians, and to organize for social, racial, and economic justice. We are dedicated to promoting the dignity and wellbeing of caregivers through leadership development, education, and material support such as food, housing, and healthcare. URC works in partnership with UDW/AFSCME Local 3930 on multiple projects and serves all home care and family child care providers regardless of union affiliation.     We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Case Manager in San Diego to join our team. The Case Manager will be responsible for supporting caregivers enrolled in community college. They will work closely with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to ensure the successful delivery of our support of UDW's partnership with the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office. This position will support regions outside of San Diego including but not limited to Orange County, Riverside, and Sacramento. Limited travel may be required.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Meet individually with members/students to assess needs and connect them to appropriate services and resources
    • Maintain updated records and case notes on all students accessing services
    • Research and build partnerships with community organizations to provide wrap-around services such as healthcare, counseling, housing, financial assistance, academic support, etc.
    • Develop and facilitate regular peer support groups focused on topics like stress management, time management, confidence building, etc.
    • Create and present workshops focused on soft skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking, etc.
    • Collect data and track student usage of services to identify trends and areas of improvement
    • Attend community resource fairs and events to expand network of services
    • Maintain client confidentiality and ethical standards
    • Hybrid schedule, must work a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

    Work Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
    • 2+ years of relevant experience in case management, counseling, or social services
    • Familiarity with unions and the labor movement is preferred.
    • Knowledge of community resources and services
    • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to collect data, write reports, and identify trends
    • Passion for empowering students and connecting them with resources
