About the role

The Junior Research Officer will support the CIVICUS Lens initiative and the production of the State of Civil Society Report by collecting data, producing content and assisting dissemination efforts. They will conduct interviews and facilitate other forms of consultation with civil society sources; conduct desk research and produce text to feed into articles or reports; manage the CIVICUS Lens’s website, uploading content and updating the homepage regularly; and produce visuals for social media dissemination of research outputs.

Key requirements

• Degree in any of the social sciences or other relevant field
• Fluency in Spanish, native speaker preferred
• Proficiency in English
• Minimum 3-year research experience.
• Familiarity with key international civil society networks and inter-governmental institutions
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Good knowledge of MS Office package and ICT literacy
• Interpersonal skills: inclination and ability to work as part of a diverse, multicultural virtual team
• Behavioural skills: well-organised, able to work independently and to deliver under pressure and within deadlines, with high attention to detail.
