    Position: Social Worker | Licensed Counselor

    Reporting to: Managing Director | Clinical Advisor

    Location: Hybrid – Remote/in-person | Northern New Jersey

    This position will support the implementation, coordination, and expansion of the depression/anxiety education, screening, and treatment program. Guided by the vision, core values and mission of StrongMinds America (SMA), this full-time position reports to the Managing Director (MD) with additional reporting to Clinical Advisor and/or Supervisor.

    As a critical part of the clinical team, this position facilitates in-person and remote clinical work including innovative brief individual counseling and group therapy sessions (6-week protocol) for youth and/or women in under-resourced communities in coordination and partnership with allied organizations, youth clubs and educational institutions (specifically, public high schools).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for assessment, planning, organizing, and delivery of depression/anxiety treatment in coordination with allied organizations.
    • Responsible for facilitating group counseling sessions utilizing the Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-G) model, including prescreening, intake, and post-therapy assessment (training provided).
    • Conduct brief individual counseling as need is determined (training provided).
    • Serve as Clinical Lead to assigned community-based organizations and agencies.
    • Provide accurate, professionally written clinical documentation (progress notes, assessments) in accordance with professional standards, policies, and as directed by the Clinical Advisor and Clinical Supervisor.
    • Assess, diagnose, and identify underlying trauma or other serious mental health issues and provide necessary information and referrals.
    • Work to develop necessary relationships with local agencies and resources to facilitate referrals.
    • Provide psychoeducation to youth, caregivers, and partner-agency staff.
    • Serve as liaison to community-based organization and agencies and participate in community-outreach events.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Candidate must have a current NJ-LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LSW.
    • 2+ years of clinical experience working with BIPOC youth and women.
    • Experience in group modality.
    • Programmatic experience working alongside and empowering vulnerable populations.
    • Strong cultural competency.
    • Must be flexible in scheduling appointments (days, some evenings, and some weekends).
    • Fluent in Spanish a plus but not a requirement.

    COMPENSATION

    This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a starting salary range based on experience of $65,000- 75,000 per year less applicable taxes and withholdings under local, state, and federal law.
