Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit network of successful charter public schools that are closing the academic achievement gap and preparing students from historically underserved communities for success in college and beyond. Uncommon currently manages 57 schools serving more than 20,000 students in six cities: Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, Rochester, and Troy. Uncommon graduates persist in and graduate from college at rates far higher than their peers. We believe that every child deserves an outstanding education, and we are committed to working beyond the walls of our schools to achieve that goal through our professional development workshops, books, and district partnerships.
The Compensation Analyst will have the opportunity to implement Uncommon School's compensation philosophy, practices, and procedures and play a key role in helping us build out our Total Rewards team. The Compensation Analyst will partner with regional leadership, our Senior Director of Total Rewards, and Head of Talent to manage core compensation policies, programs, and processes (including job evaluation, salary structure development, external benchmarking, etc.). This person will also play a meaningful role in the analysis, design, implementation, and advancement of Uncommon’s holistic employee value proposition and Total Rewards strategy. Given that compensation and benefits represent Uncommon’s largest budget line item, their work and analysis will be used to provide guidance to Uncommon leaders when making strategic financial planning decisions. The ideal candidate is thoughtful, systematic, and cares deeply about organizational equity and ensuring that our people are taken care of so that they can do their best work for our students and communities.
