ABOUT MOSAIC FAMILY SERVICES

Mosaic Family Services is a safe haven for survivors of human rights abuses including intimate partner violence and human trafficking. Mosaic provides shelter, counseling, and comprehensive social services as well as legal representation. Mosaic’s Multicultural Legal Services Program provides culturally competent civil legal representation to survivors of human trafficking and intimate partner violence. Our primary practice areas are immigration law, family law, and crime victim rights.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provision of direct therapeutic mental health services, assessments, treatment planning as part of a therapeutic services team of licensed professionals. Group Therapy is conducted on a weekly basis for process and psychoeducation groups. Crisis intervention and provision of emergency services as needed. Participation in the delivery of professional training sessions and workshops as needed for the clinical internship program or as outreach in the community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide an array of group therapy services to promote client recovery.
  • Conduct group therapy. Psychoeducation and process groups. Open and closed groups.
  • Develop service plans and conduct reviews as needed throughout the duration of group therapy.
  • Provide mental health assessments, referrals, and intervention services.
  • Assist clients in gaining group process skills.
  • Utilize experiential techniques effectively.
  • Create an atmosphere in which self-disclosure is facilitated.
  • Conduct groups effectively.
  • Adhere to time schedules.
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner and according to Federal, State and Center guidelines.
  • Write reports for court, school, or other community agencies as necessary.
  • Refer clients to resources such as psychiatrists, treatment facilities, or community services when appropriate depending on their level of care.
  • Collaborate and maintain good working relationships with external psychiatric care providers as well as representatives from civic assistance programs.
  • Conduct outreach training and education to appropriate communities.
  • Assist in the development of resources for immigrant victims of crime.
  • Provide interpretation and translation as needed.
  • Maintain updated knowledge on domestic violence, human trafficking, and immigration issues, multicultural and trauma focused practice
  • Maintain updated knowledge on ethical practice, CEU’s as needed for license requirements
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports in timely manner.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, group supervision, intern supervision and trainings.
  • Assist with the Student Internship program.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree in psychology, clinical mental health, counseling, Social Work or a related mental health field, from a school accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs.
  • Hold a license to perform in-state by the National Board for Certified Counselors, and/or the National Association of Social Workers (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPC-I, LMFT, RPT).
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with Counseling program staff and other Mosaic staff members.
  • Dependable, good work habits, strong people and communication skills.
  • Comfortable treating both routine and serious mental health illness.

Preferred:

  • Experience in working with refugees, immigrants, and victims of family violence.
  • Ability to make professional evaluations, decisions, and recommendation for treatment planning and implementation.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Group Facilitating Experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Compassionate and caring towards all patients.
  • Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple clients and groups.
  • Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, schedules, dates, and information.
  • Able to work some evenings and/or weekends.
