Congregation Rodeph Sholom (CRS) is a large dynamic Reform synagogue at the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side and has a strong 180-year history. ABOUT YOU

CRS is looking for a detail-oriented, well-organized individual who can manage their own time well. You will be supporting the Executive Director and the Clergy with scheduling, assist with planning meetings, and calendaring with congregants. 

WORK SCHEDULE

This role works Monday through Friday, generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (4:00 PM on Fridays). Our team works primarily in the office, with the ability to work remotely up to two days a week. Additional hours may be required for congregational events for which comp time would be given. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       General office work support

o   Assist with incoming and outgoing mail and main phone line 

o   Assist in producing congregational holidays and events – onsite outside of office hours (as needed)

·       Support Executive Director 

o   Answer Executive Director phone line

o   Manage Executive Director calendar including creating Doodle Polls as needed 

§  Monitor surveys and create data driven documents

o   Process invoices and Amex bill (weekly/monthly)

o   Assist in creating the agenda and PowerPoint slides for meetings including Board of        Trustee meetings (monthly)

o   Write out minutes for meetings (monthly)

o   Assist with planning and execution of Annual Meeting alongside the Program Team (yearly)

o   Ad hoc project assistance for ED (as needed) 

·       Support the Clergy Administrative Office 

o   Work with the Chief of Staff for the Clergy and Clergy Administrative Assistant to assist with various tasks supporting the rabbis and cantors

o   Schedule initial meetings, tutoring appointments and rehearsals for B’nai Mitzvah students

o   Schedule D’vrei Torah and family appointments for B’nai Mitzvah students, send confirmation and reminder emails with materials and Zoom links. Collect honors information from families for services and upload information to appropriate places.

o   Coordinate video tech requests as needed/requested by families  

SKILLS

·       Bachelor’s degree.

·       Must be well versed in Office applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SharePoint.

·       Strong written word skills for emails with congregants.

·       Comfortable with technology; experience with apps and programs such as Monday.com, Zoom, Schedulicity, Doodle, and Survey Monkey a plus.

·       Strong communications, interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.

·       Capacity to juggle multiple projects, and work both independently and collaboratively.

·       Outgoing and willing to step in as needed.

VACCINATION POLICY

·       All staff must be fully vaccinated, including booster shot. Proof of vaccination required at start of employment.
