Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle to use for work purposes and auto insurance.
Community Based staff will be reimbursed for applicable mileage
A High school diploma or equivelent is requred, a former first degree family member of individual who has received mental health treatment, preferably a parent of a child with SED diagnosis and a Youth Villages “graduate”
Experience with direct casework is preferred
DMH Certified Community Support Specialist or DMH Provisional Certified Community Support Specialist credential eligibility required
Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Basic computer knowledge
In the past 3 years (not necessarily consecutively), must have 250 hours of paid or volunteer work or activities in a support or advisory role with individuals diagnosed with a serious mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder or intellectual or developmental disability; or one year of college or educational experience (within the last three years) can be substituted for the work experience.
Covid-19 Vaccine Requirement
As of October 15, 2021, Youth Villages has required the COVID-19 vaccine for all employees, excluding those with an approved medical or religious exemption, as a condition of employment to help ensure the safety of all employees and youth and families served.
