BENEFITS and SAFETY:

All staff earn sick and vacation accruals starting on the first day of employment. Holidays are paid for those who are scheduled to work half-time or more.

We already operated in-person summer programming, so we are well-versed in what a safe in-person childcare program looks like. Our program follows all San Francisco Department of Public Health safety requirements for childcare programs: recommended mask-wearing and social distance, regular monitor testing available on site, indoor ventilation, childcare cohorts, cleaning and sanitizing, food safety, etc. However, the risk of Covid-19 exposure cannot be completely removed.

OUR ORG: The Richmond Neighborhood Center

We put our money where our mouth is → Need to demonstrate for your personal values, against institutional racism, or volunteer for a nonprofit that cares about the community? By all means, take a paid Day of Action. Need a place to express yourself? We have a DEI Working Group and two Employee Resource Groups and we’re definitely open to more.

We are a youth-centered organization → We make the Richmond District a safe place for our youth to live and grow up in. We operate a food pantry for families who need it, support CalFresh (food stamps) applications, and have even gotten into the affordable housing game. Our afterschool and summer youth programs are focused on supporting our youth as whole people!

Essential Physical Requirements:

Typical Working Conditions: School classroom-type environment.

Equipment Used: Computer, telephone, printer, fax.

Essential Physical Tasks: This job requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling under 10 lbs and occasionally up to 20 lbs. Because of the use of the computer, this job frequently uses the keyboard which requires repetitive motion and dexterity. In the course of the job, there will be frequent walking, sometimes over uneven and slippery surfaces, and sitting for periods of time. There is also occasional reaching.

Covid-19: Employees must be vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption. This job is working in person with children and alongside other staff, therefore wearing a mask is required at all times (exclusions apply). Staff and students must maintain a safe distance, must frequently wash their hands, as well as sanitize before and after every transition. More information/requirements regarding covid regulations will be supplied through trainings.
