Title: FutureProfits Program Manager (Central Valley)

Reports to: Central Valley Regional Director 

Supervisory Responsibility: Program Specialist(s), volunteers

Classification: Full Time Exempt 

Starting Date: August, 2022

Position Summary: 

Able Works is a faith informed California non-profit. Our vision is to live in a society where every individual has the ability to fulfill their greatest human potential. Our mission is to equip individuals with financial education, life skills and assets that enable them to live free from oppression and poverty.

FutureProfits is an Able Works  program that serves under-resourced high school students who are at-risk of being caught in cycles of poverty by offering  a course focusing on financial education, decision-making, and life skills. The classes are taught in partnership with local public schools in Central Valley to deliver our curriculum. The program runs at a fast pace throughout the school year, teaching as many as 1,000 students per week in multiple school districts.  

The FutureProfits Program Manager has the critical responsibilities of carrying out the daily operations, training and supervising staff, strengthening partnership relationships, delivering curriculum in-class and ensuring overall program quality, and success. 

Summary of Management Responsibilities of the Program Manager:
  • Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress;
  • Setting goals for the program and the people delivering the program;
  • Developing criterion for evaluating program success;
  • Managing the budget;
  • Managing the schedule;
  • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements;
  • Managing all individuals who are part of the program delivery team;
  • Managing communication between participants, volunteers and Able Works staff to ensure smooth operations;
  • Aligning the outputs/outcome  with program goals;
  • Developing and maintaining program documentations such as the program delivery documents, forms for risk control , evaluation documents .
  • Measuring KPIs and other analytics to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Incorporating new learnings to further refine and improve programs.

Primary Duties:

Partnership Development and Management

  • Develop  deeper connection with school faculty
  • Strengthen relationship with existing partners to improve program delivery at all schools (this includes teachers, department heads and administrators)
  • Identify and develop new partnership opportunities

Program Operations

  • Deliver curriculum efficiently and effectively in the classroom
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive schedule for each class/school and master schedule for the program 
  • Make necessary adaptations, and identify opportunities for program improvement
  • Plan and prepare all supporting materials/content needed for successful program launch 
  • Oversee program systems and operations improvement 
  • Create, plan, and execute opportunities for experiential learning (e.g. clubs, field trips, networking events, etc.) outside of the classroom, which carryout Able Works missional values

Learning and Evaluation

  • Develop a measurement plan with Data and Evaluation Team to measure progress toward meeting program outcomes and progress indicators
  • Oversee collection of data through participant tracker, pre- and post-program surveys, etc. 
  • Ensure staff capture all data in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attend Data Team meetings on a regular basis to assess progress and learn for opportunities to improve impact
  • Monitor progress to plan (progress indicators, and expected outcomes)

Staff  Management

  • Recruit, hire, and manage program staff
  • Develop goals and progress indicators for each staff member
  • Track and monitor progress
  • Lead weekly department meetings and 1:1 meetings with staff to ensure program is running smoothly 
  • Work with Director of Programs to provide training for program
  • Participate in annual and periodic staff performance evaluation process

Volunteer Strategy and Management

  • Create a volunteer coach strategy and implementation plan
  • Recruit, interview, train and support volunteer coaches to teach the curriculum in public high schools
  • Create community amongst coaching team
  • Provide regular communication with volunteers and partners via newsletters and/or get togethers during the year

Quality Assurance 

  • Identify opportunities to provide quality assurance of curriculum delivery and implement solutions
  • Participate in strategic planning related to the curriculum and program development
  • Provide impact reports to management
  • Disseminate, collect, and share reviews from partners
  • Coordinate and facilitate check-ins with partners, coaches and students regarding program implementation and/or impact at multiple points during the programming schedule

Special Events and Other Duties

  • Assist with the recruitment of AchieveAble and LiveAble participants through FutureProfits classes/high school partners; and provide support as needed to AchieveAble
  • Plan, assist and/or execute special events, sometimes during evenings or weekends, for Able Works, students, volunteers, partners and the community
  • Attend training  and events for staff at Able Works
  • Perform other tasks and support other departments as required


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with economics and finance concepts especially the topics which relate to issues in under resourced communities
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in youth/high school level programming 
  • Ability to inspire and engage with school partners, volunteers and program participants
  • Proven leadership experience with ability to form and manage a team
  • Keen understanding of the unique conditions of  under-resourced students 
  • Volunteer recruitment, training and management experience
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Fingerprint clearances
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Valid TB Test
  • Access to a reliable form of transportation and proof of car insurance
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with Google Suites, SmartSheets, MailChimp, Survey Monkey, Prezi and Zoom 


  • Masters Degree
  • Teaching Credential
  • Experience in program management and management of staff to ensure optimal program delivery
  • Relationships with administrators and teachers in public schools in Central Valley
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to take initiative
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Prior experience working with underserved youth
  • Minority applicants are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Video skills and graphic design is a plus
