Communications and Engagement Coordinator

The Stability Network, a Washington state 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2018, is adding a Communications and Engagement Coordinator to our team. The Stability Network’s mission is to inspire and encourage people experiencing mental health challenges to thrive.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, motivated, mission-aligned, service-oriented, has a high standard of excellence, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment focused on mental health storytelling and fighting stigma in communities and workplaces around the world. The ideal candidate must have maturity and cultural competency in working with people from international cultures in almost 20 countries representing neurodiverse and neurodivergent lived experience and different understandings, ideas, and languages around mental health. The Communications and Engagement Coordinator must be able to work independently and we seek a 2-year commitment. This position will report to the Program Manager on a close-knit, resourceful team of three full-time employees.

Position Overview


Location


This Washington-based position averages 40 hours per week, primarily during the work week but occasionally (albeit infrequently) requiring international Zoom meetings that may be earlier in the morning or later in the evening. This role requires meetings in-person in the Seattle area at least three days per week during onboarding in the first 90 days of employment. After onboarding, this role is currently mostly remote, requiring meetings in-person at least one day per week in the Seattle area. We anticipate a remote-leaning hybrid structure for the foreseeable future.



Core Responsibilities


Communications

·      Manage internal website (Leader Portal through Mighty Networks), responding to inquiries, updating events, and posting content regularly

·      Review, edit and publish story profiles of Stability Leaders for external website

·      Support the Program Manager with social media, including campaigns

·      Support the Program Manager with quarterly internal and external newsletters

·      Support Program Manager with writing annual reports, surveys, and reports as necessary

·      Track media inquiries


Network Engagement


Recruitment

·      Manage inbound recruitment for The Stability Network, including initial application screening, administration, and scheduling orientations

·      Co-facilitate Stability Leader Orientations with Program Manager

·      Onboarding for new Stability Leaders including follow-up and gathering data/contacts

·      Ensure Stability Leaders are trained and supported, including conducting outreach


Relationship Management

·      Manage ongoing relationships with Stability Leaders, fielding general questions and addressing needs that arise, referring to the Program Manager or ED when needed

·      Coordinate support groups, scheduling meetings and entering Salesforce data as needed

·      Support the Program Manager in organizing large programmatic events (e.g., annual global conference, regional meetings, storytelling events, etc.)

·      Ensure all information in databases, web profiles, and other is up to date


Speaker Training Program Support

·      Coordinate logistics of speaker training program, scheduling upcoming trainings with speaker coaches, advertising trainings, and follow-up

·      Support the Program Manager with the Fundamentals of Advocacy Storytelling workshop

·      Keep Salesforce up to date, adding campaigns for trainings and workshops

·      Support Program Manager to review and improve trainings and workshops as needed


Donor Engagement and Administrative

·      Input and track all donations in Salesforce, including matching gifts

·      Generate relevant fundraising reports in Salesforce

·      Produce tax letter follow ups for all donations, including end-of-year donation letters

·      Support Program Manager and Executive Director with fundraising campaigns and events

·      Manage relationships with vendors, compiling monthly invoices

·      Manage relationship with Salesforce technical consultant

·      Manage online accounts including Salesforce, Click & Pledge, Benevity, Outlook 365, Zoom, Wired Impact, Keeper, and all others, tracking billing and saving all receipts

·      Pick up mail weekly, logging and tracking all checks

·      Perform additional tasks and update materials as needed




Required Qualifications and Characteristics

·      1 – 2 years of experience in a communication, community engagement, or program role

·      Passion for mental health and strong connection to TSN’s mission

·      Empathy, humility, flexibility, and willingness to serve and lead

·      Strong interpersonal, verbal, and especially written communication skills (success may be demonstrated through professional, academic, community or volunteer experiences)

·      Commitment to incorporating justice, equity, and anti-racism into the core of your work

·      Cultural competency learned from experience with diverse needs, challenges, and communications styles

·      Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

·      Strong judgment rooted in critical thinking and modeling honesty and transparency

·      Positive, solution-oriented, flexible spirit of collaboration

·      Can prioritize organizational mission, vision, and values in the spirit of pursuing shared team goals, particularly in moments of disagreement or conflict

·      Self-starter who can anticipate upcoming needs and execute in a startup NPO culture

·      Able to learn new programs quickly and work with new systems while improving them

·      Unimpeachable work and financial ethics, including handling checks, donations, donor info, and tax and financial documents

·      Kindness, discretion, patience, and the utmost integrity in handling confidential information and health challenges that require sensitivity, care, and understanding

·      Willingness to complete criminal background check

·      Ability to meet physical demands including working on a computer for extended periods



Preferred Qualifications

·      Non-profit experience

·      Experience with customer relationship management systems, especially Salesforce

·      Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, LinkedIn, Facebook, Mailchimp, Mighty Networks, and Zoom

·      Experience navigating or supporting mental health challenges, especially in the workplace

·      Experience with training, facilitating, teaching to a diversity of learning styles and abilities

·      Experience with storytelling, narrative writing, social justice advocacy, or public speaking

·     Sense of humor and personal connection style to contribute to building a culture of joy and abundance

·      Licensed to drive in the state of Washington and ability to load and transport supplies for events (including boxes up to 50 pounds, food, paper, tech)

Compensación

Full-time employees are eligible for paid holidays and unlimited PTO following the first 90 days of employment, pending approval from the Program Manager and coordination with organizational calendar and events.


While we do not yet have a group health/vision/dental insurance plan, we offer full-time employees an added payroll stipend which may be used to purchase health/vision/dental insurance.
