Founded in 2005, the Global Justice Center is a team of creative feminists using international law to achieve gender equality and dismantle systems of oppression. We are working towards a gender-equal world where every person lives free from violence, has full bodily autonomy, and has the power to access justice to protect and promote their human rights.

GJC’s innovative legal team develops creative, far-reaching, and authoritative legal analyses as the basis for establishing progressive legal precedents, and conducts strategic advocacy to achieve normative and systemic change. Change must be driven by those most affected, so in partnership with sister organizations around the world, we leverage our unique access, power, and position to power-share with grassroots actors and amplify women’s voices for change at every level.

GJC’s work ensures:

  • Abortion access is respected, protected and fulfilled as a fundamental human right.
  • Gender shapes the prevention of and response to violence, including conflict and mass atrocities.
  • Multilateral systems integrate principles of feminism, inclusivity, and non-discrimination.

We actively seek a diverse applicant pool, encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply, and encourage applications from candidates who have experience and can perform the essential functions of this role even if they do not meet all of the desired qualifications – particularly if they are from backgrounds underrepresented in the human rights field. GJC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of disability, age, gender identity and expression, national origin, race and ethnicity, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
