    S:US’ Development and External Affairs team works collaboratively with Board members, executive leadership, program, and finance staff to build internal and external relationships, raise funds, and increase the organization’s visibility. The team includes staff members working in the areas of fundraising, marketing and communications, and volunteer management.

    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Corporate and Foundation Giving Manager works collaboratively with the Development and Marketing/Communications team to further the fundraising efforts of S:US. S/he will be charged with managing and growing the corporate and foundation grants pipeline as well as the Corporate Partners program and will work with leadership on creating and refining fundraising strategy.

    II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Corporate and Foundation Grant Management

    • Collaborate with Director of Development and Development and External Affairs Coordinator to manage tracking and reporting on existing and prospective foundation and corporate grants.
    • Conduct prospect research on new corporate and foundation giving opportunities
    • Prepare prospect research and briefings for the Chief Development and External Affairs Officer and Development Director and personally participate in meetings with prospective funders as appropriate
    • Gain a deep understanding of S:US programs and their funding needs; creatively package funding opportunities to help them appeal to and match the criteria of prospective funders
    • Draft clear, compelling applications, reports, and other communications to foundations and corporations. Work with program and finance staff to ensure accuracy of all information submitted.
    • Collaborate with finance and program staff to ensure that all grant expenses are tracked properly and grant reports are submitted on time

    Corporate Partners Program

    • Help manage and grow Corporate Partners program, including identifying and soliciting prospective new partners and deepening relationships with current partners
    • Work with the S:US volunteer program team to identify opportunities to link corporate volunteering and corporate fundraising programs
    • Work with program staff to identify opportunities for corporate sponsorship of S:US programs
    • Develop creative new ideas to engage current and prospective partners and oversee rollout of program expansion
    • Support Associate Vice President of Special Events in the creation and implementation of donor cultivation events, including engaging relevant corporate prospects

    Administration & Strategy

    • Collaborate with Director of Development to create yearly Corporate and Foundation fundraising strategy as well as plans to target relevant constituencies
    • Work with Development and External Affairs Coordinator to track all engagement with corporate and foundation donors in Raiser’s Edge and to prepare reports, dashboards, and other analysis as needed
    • Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as required.

    III. REQUIREMENTS:

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5+ years of non-profit experience, including experience with grant writing and corporate partnerships
    • Strong people skills; comfort in proactively building relationships with new stakeholders and reaching out to potential supporters
    • Strong communications and writing skills and ability to explain the societal issues addressed by S:US in different formats to audiences with varying levels of expertise – ie. grant applications, email communications, etc.
    • Knowledge of the New York City business and philanthropic communities.
    • Proactive, creative thinker with the ability to independently manage several projects simultaneously as well as to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with colleagues, donors, vendors and board members.
    • Ability to navigate a large, complex organization with many moving parts and priorities.
    • A genuine commitment to DEI in principle and in practice in all aspects of work.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Undergraduate Degree
    • Working knowledge in managing budgets and fundraising data
    • Experience with donor database software
