Descripción

LTR is looking for a motivated and forward thinking individual to provide support on all fundraising initiatives including special events, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, donor cultivation, and grant writing.

This role requires a critical thinker with a thorough understanding of our brand and mission, exceptional communication skills, and experience in nonprofit development.

This role will be expected to maintain and strengthen existing, long-term donors as well as generate new funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Executive Director and Board of Directors to create a development plan which increases (1) revenue through multiple streams of funding (2) brand awareness
  • Manage giving
  • Individual giving
  • Develop and implement all aspects of direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor mailings as needed
  • Organize, streamline, and maintain donor management tracking and communication
  • Corporate giving
  • Generate reports from DonorPerfect or CRM on giving histories
  • Write and report on grants

Special Event Coordination:

  • LTR will be hosting its annual Ride-A-thon in October, 50th Anniversary Gala in November of 2024, a fashion show in February, and a Barn Dance in May 
  • Coordinate logistics, budget, communication, and outreach with event chairs and planning committee
  • Provide accurate and up to date reports on event details for Attendance, Budget, Acknowledgements, and other miscellaneous reports

Manage General Communication Efforts:

  • Social Media
  • Online giving campaigns:  Giving Tuesday and Give Choose
  • Develop and maintain media contacts with area media outlets

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and fundraising best practices
  • Work collaboratively with the bookkeeper and Executive Director to ensure accurate internal and external reporting
  • Other advancement initiatives as appropriate and needed
  • Value engineer transaction fees for donation point of donation with DonorPerfect, Stripe, and BetterWorld or recommend other services
  • Recommend any improvements in donor and fundraising processes to eliminate unnecessary expenses

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (donor database experience desirable)
  • Experience with grant writing and reporting
  • Ability to work within a budget
  • Experience and contacts in Loudoun County are a plus
  • Impeccable organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Friendly and professional demeanor, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and special projects
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Personal Attributes:

Must be self-motivated with strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. Individual must be equally comfortable taking guidance and defining their own initiative as well as assisting with non-related farm activities. LTR is looking for an individual that can fully embrace LTR’s vision and values. The LTR team prioritizes respect, mutual support, and a can-do attitude and all team members have a strong desire to work in an industry that focuses on helping others.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
