The RDC Center for Counseling and Human Development (The Center) provides community mental health counseling services through a mission-centered practice dedicated to the core values of human dignity, inclusion and empowerment.

The practice includes four licensed clinical social workers and serves approximately 100 clients each month; it offers affordable counseling grounded in compassion to facilitate the therapeutic process. Services are available to individuals, (children and adults), couples and families. Clinical areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, separation, divorce, bereavement, loss, and relationship issues. 

Summary: The Executive Director will implement the goals and objectives of The Center and establish policies with the Board of Directors. He/She will oversee day-to-day operations and clinical programs and provide administrative and financial leadership. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Direct the operations of The Center. Supervise four clinicians and clinical student interns.

·       Recruit and develop a talented team to provide clinical services and operational excellence. Establish employee goals and objectives and track achievement with performance evaluations. Orient new staff to the culture, mission and core values of The Center.

·       Ensure practices follow regulatory and legal requirements

·       Dedicate approximately 40% of time to maintaining a client case load 

·       Continue to evolve The Center with innovative, community-need based programs while managing opportunities and risks to protect the Center’s mission. 

·       Partner with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen The Center’s brand with the community. Represent The Center at social and corporate events. 

·       Identify potential sources for grants. Complete applications and organize fundraising efforts.

·       Prepare and present The Center’s budget. Ensure the alignment of the operational plans and budgets with strategy. 

·       Maintain policies, procedures, and succession planning documentation

·       Maintain a strong partnership with The Center’s Board of Directors. Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the organization’s mission. 

·       Set and achieve annual goals. Support Board requests for reports and analyses. Assist in the preparation of materials for Board meetings

Skills and qualifications: 

·       LCSW (New York) or Ph.D. psychologist

·       7 years+ progressive clinical and supervisory experience in a community-based counseling center

·       Experience with grants, fundraising and/or developing alternative revenue streams

·       Evidence of professionalism consistent with best practices for licensed clinicians 

·       Motivated self-starter

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Strong organization, leadership and team-building skills

·       Ability to foster an environment of integrity, professionalism, and responsiveness.

·       Effective implementation of Board directives.

·       Demonstrated knowledge of best business practices in clinical, non-profit environment of similar size

·       Experience in setting and managing budgets

·       Ability to innovate to meet organizational strategic goals in an evolving environment

·       Proficient in, or capable of learning, Therapy Notes software package
