Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will be mission-driven with a desire to make a difference for people and communities served by LCS Northwest. 

The role: The Associate District Director supports the District Director in oversight of all operations, functions, and activities within the district in collaboration with and under the guidance of the District Director. The role is responsible for supporting the district in the execution of the district’s strategic direction and implementing a high-quality vision in alignment with the Agency's mission and goals. The Associate District Director is collaborative and influential with the ability to lead and motivate, utilizing strong communication skills and taking a holistic approach in supporting the overall management of the District's operations while empowering the administrative team to lead their areas of expertise. This position will be based out of Seattle/SeaTac, Washington and will require frequent travel to various locations of the Greater Puget Sound district including Everett, Kent, Tacoma, Bremerton, and Port Angeles, working 37.5 hours per week.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (duties and responsibilities may be assigned as the needs of the organization change):

  • Support developing and implementing strategies under the direction of the District Director aiming to promote the organization’s mission and “voice” 
  • Implement, review, monitor, and suggest course corrections to the District Director and the district leadership on business plans and program development for the attainment of goals and objectives set under the guidance of the District Director, and in collaboration with Communities, Executive Team and Agency Strategic Planning Process
  • Cultivate and maintain a culture that attracts, develops, and retains diverse top talent
  • Lead a client-focused service environment, one that places the client's needs and the service they receive as a priority at every level of the staff
  • Provide direct support to the development of an effective team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching to the district directors and managers, including developing cross-functional communications and relationships within the team, maintaining compliance for the contracts and performance, conducting regular meetings, supporting timely and effective performance management at every level, and focusing on succession planning
  • Ensure adherence to the organization’s daily activities and long-term plans to established policies, program and contract requirements, and legal guidelines
  • Support the oversight and become an active partner with Shared Services for  Grants and Finance ensuring funding meets organizational goals and costs through maintaining a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field and monitoring efforts to ensure objectives are met
  • Forge and maintain relations of trust with internal and external stakeholders within the Agency, Communities, and the District
  • As assigned by the District Director, act as the public speaker and public relations representative for the District and Agency in ways that strengthen its profile and establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups, church relations, and organizations.
  • Assist in the operational oversight in partnership with Executive Functional leaders for Finance, HR, Operations, IT, and Facilities for sustainable positive results
  • Support the oversight and work with the District Director and staff, Shared Services Finance in preparing budgets; see that the District operates within budget guidelines and support execution of proactive adjustments as determined to maintain alignment
  • Demonstrate and lead awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served and our mission
  • Embrace and lead innovative change through influence and collaboration and model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff
  • Create, in collaboration with and under the direction of the District Director, Key Results Areas that drive professional development and District success in alignment with the agency’s overall mission


 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

  • Masters degree required in Social Work, Public Administration or a related field 
  • At least 3 - 5 years experience in a Director level role required, preferably in both a Not-For-Profit and For-Profit environment
  • Experience in assessing, researching, and developing sound strategies and plans
  • Ability to apply successful advancement and networking techniques
  • Strong understanding of finance and measures of performance
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance principles and managerial best practices
  • An analytical mind capable of “out-of-the-box” thinking to solve problems
  • Demonstrated organization and leadership abilities, including objective crisis management
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), public speaking, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated success at building and directing multicultural teams
