CLC is the largest children’s legal services organization in the nation, currently serving 30,000 clients in the Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Placer County child welfare systems.
CLC is seeking a Recruitment and Retention Specialist. This is a new role within CLC designed to deepen existing recruitment efforts, expand networks to reach diverse candidates, and successfully meet CLC’s hiring needs. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will develop new, creative processes and procedures to develop and maintain a high-quality applicant pool in alignment with CLC’s Strategic Plan. The Specialist will assess job satisfaction and retention data to make recommendations to the Executive Team aimed at promoting loyalty and sustained high performance from all staff. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will ensure that CLC attracts, hires, and retains the best employees while growing a strong talent pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have full-cycle recruiting experience, from identifying talent to interviewing, hiring, and shaping practices to retain high-caliber employees. They should be skilled in utilizing various outreach methods, including social media networks and employee referrals, to attract qualified candidates. A deep understanding of - and demonstrated commitment to – the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging are critical. This is a role for an outgoing, dynamic, strategic, and innovative professional who will drive CLC’s recruitment and retention efforts by being authentic, agile, connected, and technologically bold.
The Recruitment and Retention Specialist reports to the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of recruiting or comparable experience; an advanced degree (JD or master's degree in social work or related field) is preferred. Experience in or familiarity with the child welfare system in California is a plus, as is a background in diversity-specific recruiting. The position will be based in Los Angeles, California. Must be on-site frequently; some travel may be required.
