    Descripción

    Partnership with Children provides critical counseling, school-wide services, and family and community outreach in high-poverty, New York City public schools so students can reach their full potential. The Assistant Director leads the day-to-day operations, and delivers on short-term objectives, while keeping the program focused on the overall mission and goals. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with exceptional relationship development and management skills and reports to the BEACON Program Director.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists Beacon Director to oversee daily operations of a large afterschool and Beacon program (community program conducted on nights and weekends
    • Work closely with the PS 194 Principal and leadership to ensure after school program student policies and procedures are coordinated and appropriately aligned with day school and ensure students have a wide range of levels of preparedness and engagement and receive balanced enrichment programming
    • Ensure all students are safe, engaged and supervised by adults at all times
    • Partners who support students academically, artistically, and socio-emotionally
    • Assists Beacon Director in clarifying work policies for staff to ensure that they are consistent with PWC and BEACON policies and procedures
    • Assists Beacon Director in developing programs, procedures and processes where needed, including student services, operations, as well as staffing and budgets​​​​​​
    • Foster strong relationships and effective communication and collaboration with students, parents, staff, and PWC leadership
    • Create and maintain systems to track data related to attendance and engagement and collaborate with other community organization leaders serving students in grades K-12 and community members
    • Ensure program stays on track to consistently meet program goals and objectives
    • Manage a team of Activity Specialists

    Qualifications:

    • Commitment to demonstrating PWC’s organizational values of Collaboration, Continuous Learning, Going to Solution, Equity & Inclusion, and Passion
    • Bachelor’s degree with experience in progressive educational or social service experience
    • At least four years of experience in education, youth development, social work, community organizing or another related field and at least one year of supervisory and management experience
    • Demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding goals and positively impacting children, their families, and the community as a whole
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to navigate and manage multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, flexible, organized and can-do attitude
    • Strong direct management skills, including ability to effectively supervise coach and develop a staff
    • Excellent time management skills, coupled with a strong sense of urgency to get things done without sacrificing accuracy and ethical behavior
    • Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required by the demands of the program

    Hours:

    • Full Time/Year-round position
    • School Year Schedule: Tuesdays-Fridays 1-9pm; Saturdays between the hours of 9am-6pm
    • Summer Schedule 8am-6pm; schedule subject to change
