Teaching Artist- Visual & Performing Arts

Overview:

CEI Arts Education is seeking both Visual and Performing Artists for the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for artists experienced in teaching K-12 students, parents, and teachers. Ideal candidates should have a background in various performing arts disciplines such as but not limited to visual arts, mural making, sculpture, theater, spoken word, Zumba, Capoeira, music, etc. Candidates should also be familiar with incorporating social action into their lesson plans and integrating academic content with the arts. Applicants must be willing to travel within NYC's five boroughs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years experience working as a teaching artist
• BA or MA
• Experience working with NYC Public Schools
• Experience teaching a group of students without a co-teacher
• Experience creating and teaching arts-integrated lessons that teach academic content
• Fingerprinted with NYCDOE and in compliance with NYCDOE health guidelines
• Proficient in all Google Suite applications (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills

Rate: Half day/Full day
