Job Summary

Manage and coordinate daily operations and staff at a Job Training & Education Center (JTEC) at a field site location. Oversee the development of JTEC. Provide job readiness and basic skills training for adults and youth. Identify and coordinate community resources and partnerships. Communicate Seattle Goodwill's vision and mission as well as JTE programs to internal and external stake holders.


Essential Functions:

Coordinate and supervise all Center programs.

Responsible for overall student learning progress; provide regular center reports as required. Maintain student records and data to track student progress and retention. Partner with Case Manager and Employment Specialist to assist with successful outcome for students.

In partnership with the JTE Director and the Director of Programming and Development, coordinate the development and maintenance of site programs.

Observe, evaluate and develop center staff.

Responsible for coordination of all administrative tasks at the center.

Conduct outreach and recruitment activities and promote program benefits and graduates to retail staff, potential employers, agencies and service providers.

Coordinate recruitment activities for classes and programs.

Coordinate volunteers at site.

Create lesson plans and provide instruction when needed.

Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to helping students learn.

Coordinate center staff meetings and attend staff meetings at various locations.

Work on special projects and assist with events as needed.

Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field or combination of experience and education.

Experience: Minimum two years teaching/training experience. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience. Experience in a workforce development setting.

Specific Skills/Knowledge/Licenses: Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software as needed. Familiar with use of educational technology. Experience and success in simplifying and communicating complex ideas and tasks. Experience teaching/training students who may not have any formal education. Ability and flexibility to work in an environment with a very diverse group of people.


Essential Physical Abilities:

Able to safely lift/push/ pull up to 25 lbs., grasp, handle, finger and manipulate items; perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers, wrists and arms, standing for long periods of time. Ability to work in cramped areas/ small spaces. Able to communicate with others effectively, verbally and in writing; including those who have limited English skills, large and small groups, and individuals.

Working Conditions:

Office/classroom environment; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position requires some travel to other locations for offsite meetings and events.
