IHP seeks Visiting Faculty members to join an interdisciplinary team of faculty and host country coordinators for the following programs in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023.
Applicants may apply for one or both semesters. Each four-month term will take approximately 20-30 students from leading U.S. colleges and universities to four program locations to do inter-disciplinary study from a global comparative perspective. The tentative itineraries are as follows:
IHP’s Cities in the 21st Century: People, Planning and Politics program in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023
IHP’s Human Rights: Movements, Power, and Resistance program for Fall 2022 and Spring of 2023
IHP’s Health and Community: Globalization, Culture, and Care in Spring 2023

For the Fall 2022 semester, employment will begin in July of 2022. For the Spring 2023 semester, faculty will join Fall faculty for online training in July, then be hired for the spring semester.
Traveling with college-aged students for four months and guiding their learning and field research in cities and rural environments, as well as conducting classroom discussions and small-group seminars, presents unique challenges, and demands particular qualities of faculty members. Please consider this point carefully in your letter of interest, paying special attention to how you would handle the conceptual, pedagogical, intercultural, and interpersonal demands of a program like IHP. What in your academic background and work experience has prepared you to step into this role? What specifically interests you about this visiting faculty opportunity as opposed to a more traditional academic position?

Vaccination is required for all employees in our US offices except for those receiving medical or religious exemptions. If boosters are subsequently recommended by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) then employees and faculty will be required to receive the booster within thirty (30) days of their eligibility to access the boosters.
