POSITION OVERVIEW: The Quality Assurance Specialist is a position integral to the successful functioning, execution, and remediation of the complete battery of Mamatoto Village programs and initiatives. Mamatoto Village is committed to the delivery of high-quality perinatal services through the innovative Mothers Rising Home Visiting Program (MRHV), impactful community and national level advocacy, and creating a justice-centered workspace for individuals committed to the common goal of healthy mamas, healthy babies, and healthy communities. 

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for implementing all quality assurance, quality improvement, and auditing activities for Mamatoto Village (MV) programs, grants, and initiatives under the direction of the Director of Data and Social Impact. The responsibilities include supporting all Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities implemented by all MV departments. The position will monitor the timeliness and accuracy of data entry into the electronic health record (EHR); create regularly scheduled monitoring reports for all teams, and help in the design and implementation of Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance and Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with Director of Data and Social Impact, data team, and contractors to support all Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and share findings from various QI/QA inquiries
  • Administer and maintain satisfaction surveys, questionnaires, and interviews with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with the development and implementation of  stakeholder systems training and support documents

EHR Auditing

  • Performs electronic health record (EHR) audits on a weekly basis for accuracy, compliance, and integrity by applying maternal and child health knowledge, medical terminology, and MRHV program best practices; and to ensure that staff serving clients are completing all program-oriented tasks in a timely fashion and reports findings of audits to program leadership.
  • Perform weekly review of PHW time records for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare weekly case record review reports

Administrative Support 

  • Create monthly and/or quarterly reports and dashboards for general staff, program leads, and partners;
  • Contribute as needed to the monthly, quarterly, mid-year, and year-end reports.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO FOSTER SUCCESS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree minimum in one of the following fields: public health, human services, social sciences, or related fields or 3 years of experience AND at least 2-3 years of experience with QI/QA activity development and implementation; data visualization; and reporting;
  • Medical Terminology proficiency required;
  • High level of skill with MS Office, Google Workspace, iOS.;
  • Experience and/or capacity to learn data analysis software to include SPSS and Tableau is a must;
  • Strong familiarity with human rights, reproductive justice, and/or maternal and infant health content;
  • Must be able to work with sensitive and protected information in a confidential manner;
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and experience in reporting writing;
  • Ability to organize and maintain complete, accurate records and file reports promptly;
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training.
