Job Title  

Weekend Evening Program Monitor – Safe Haven 

 

Location  

Fairfax Hotel 420 Eddy St, San Francisco, CA 94109 

 

Employment Type 

Part-Time, Non-Exempt  

 

Summary  

The Weekend Evening Program Monitor is responsible for monitoring the activities of residents of the Safe Haven Residential Housing during weekend program hours. The role responds to emergencies and engages in crisis intervention, completes appropriate documentation (Incident Reports) and works with staff to facilitate treatment and identify resident issues. The Weekend Program Monitor may also accompany and supervise residents during the evening meal. Administrative tasks include maintaining the Daily Log Book and monitoring curfew and sign in. Other clerical duties may be assigned. 

 

Schedule 

Saturday and Sunday 

4:00pm-12:00am 

 

Responsibilities  

  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervisions 
  • Managing the program environment after regular program hours (shifts may include overnight or weekends) 
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation 
  • The ability to recognize relapse behavior 
  • Documentation, i.e. Incident Reports and Log Book entries 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact productively with residents and staff 
  • Urinalysis 
  • Quality assurance 
  • Ability to drive clients to appointments as needed, and/or provide pick up delivery service as needed 
  • Clerical duties, i.e. photo copying and assembling charts, etc. 
  • Perform comparable related duties as required by management 

 

Requirements 

Education 

  • High School diploma or GED considered with experience  

Experience 

  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working with individuals that suffer from substance abuse and mental health barriers, with at least one (1) year in a human service agency  
  • Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted  

Qualifications 

  • Maintain good attendance record, including timely notification if unable to work shift 
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques 
  • Must have reliable transportation 
  • Must have clean driving record 
  • Employee must be able to perform all essential job requirements and responsibilities within what would be considered reasonable accommodation 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative
