Outreach Associate, Donor Relations

Job Summary 

The Outreach Associate is a member of the central Office of Institutional Advancement (IA) staff and reports to the Executive Director of Donor Relations. This position plays a key role in creating a culture of philanthropy at Drexel by supporting and enhancing the University's relationships with individual donors through events, outreach, and reporting. This position is intended to complement and augment the ongoing relationship-building efforts of IA development officers, as well as assist the engagement staff with stewardship.

Essential Functions 

• Assist with the tracking of scholarship funds and the execution of gift agreements in accordance with donor wishes
• Coordinate with the fundraising units and gift officers to plan and execute both virtual and in-person donor-centric events, including the Celebration of Scholarship, smaller scholarship luncheons, and special donor experiences at signature alumni events
• Reach out to students to arrange donor meetings, event attendance, and information needed for donor stewardship efforts
• In conjunction with the Drexel Fund, support stewardship of micro-philanthropy campaigns, including the Turkey Project, I Love DU Day, Thanks for Giving Day, and more
• Gather the student information needed to create Impact Reports from approved data sources and student submissions
• Create stewardship videos for donors in the ThankView platform.
• Ensure donor and fund information in the award management system is complete and up to date
• Assist in the execution of Anthony J. Drexel Society (AJDS) monthly mailings.
• Support the Gift Compliance Officer in tracking and providing fund information as needed.
• Request and manage data files for mailing lists, scholarships, email blasts, and other departmental needs as necessary
• Attend and work donor events as needed
• Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications 

• Associate’s Degree 
• Experience in non-profit, higher education, or customer service work
• Possess excellent oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Highly detailed-oriented and well-organized
• Possess strong customer service focus
• Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed required 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Data management skills, including MS Excel and MS Access
• Ability to travel to the University City office on short notice; this position is hybrid but candidates within a reasonable commuting distance of Philadelphia are preferred
