Job Description: Operations Director, One Arizona 

Role Overview

Role: Operations Director - 501(c)(3) 

Managed by: Executive Director

Compensation and Benefits: This position is a full-time role in our $80,000 - $110,000 salary range. Benefits package includes: 80% coverage of medical, dental, vision (for dependent/spouse healthcare as well), 401k with match, $50.00 monthly internet 

reimbursement (while we’re remote), $60.00 cell phone reimbursement, $500.00 professional development fund, $250.00 home office stipend. 


Organization Overview

One Arizona is a coalition of 501c3s focused on year-round voter registration, voter engagement, voter mobilization, election protection, and issue advocacy. We coordinate, provide tools and technical support, and fundraise to ensure our partners have the resources they need to meet their goals and our collective goals. Position Description

The Operation Director is responsible for people and administrative operations for One Arizona (501c3), (the “Organization”). 

The Operation Director is tasked with setting and accomplishing organizational and departmental goals, setting up their entire team for success in their roles, and ultimately being the behind-the-scenes staff that ensures we meet our mission to support our partners. 

The Operations Director is primarily responsible for the human resource needs, the fiscal and accounting needs, and the scheduling and logistics needs of the infrastructure. 


Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Operations Director will include, but are not limited, to:

  • Develops and implements work plans and objectives for the department.
  • Assesses and reports progress concerning department objectives, and creates adjustments as necessary to ensure success.
  • Regularly meets with the operations team, provides feedback, connects team members to professional development opportunities, and performs annual evaluations to ensure staff talent retention, development, and growth.
  • Develops internal mechanisms to streamline table processes, including leading departments to record their systems and processes.
  • Generates necessary reports for other department leadership and the Executive Director. 
  • Collaborates with other department directors on shared goals and participates in leadership team meetings and projects.
  • Play a key role in strategic planning, developing an inclusive process that engages the staff, board, and partner organizations.
  • Organize, prep, and staff regular recurring meetings.
  • Works directly with program staff to develop program budgets and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Assists in developing products and deliverables as necessary to support fundraising and reporting efforts.
  • Refine and maintain internal communications systems to ensure that staff have the information they need to best serve partners and meet their goals.
  • Ensure implementation training of new policies or tools meet the individual needs of staff to successfully fully adopt the new process or tool.
  • Assess HR policies and practices and propose improvements to the Executive Director/staff and implement as needed.
  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes led by operations and hiring team staff.
  • Collaborate with the Data Department, develop and implement new policies that increase digital security
  • Oversee Fiscal Sponsorship program through a structured agreement, regularly scheduled meetings, and financial and development planning and follow-up
  • Manage and maintain operating records and bookkeeping for the organization. Support with vendor engagement, contract development, writing RFPs, and cost analysis
  • Record, manage, and process organizational regrants as needed
  • Manage organizational finances in collaboration with the Finance and Compliance Director to ensure compliant and competent financial reporting, audits, and record-keeping


Assist with any additional duties as assigned*

  • Understands the role that well-run offices, technology, meetings, events, and sound finances and budgeting play in supporting a mission-driven, high-performance staff.

Qualifications Preferred: 

  • Strong cultural competence with communities of color and experience working with diverse groups 
  • Previous experience in Arizona 
  • Experience in HR, accounting, and payroll services,
  • Access to reliable transportation
