Girls Who Code College Loops are university-level networks for college-aged women interested in tech to support one another and help each other persist and succeed in the field. College Loops build belonging and community through meetings during the school year. Additionally, Loops can request funding for their activities and access our GWC platform, including helpful resources to start and maintain their Loop.

Girls Who Code is seeking a part-time, seasonal coordinator to support the College Loops program, within the College & Careers team, from late July 2024 - May 2025. The Coordinator will support the Sr. Program Manager with three major bodies of work; communications, incentive fulfillment, and administrative support.

The ideal candidate for this role is meticulous in their organization, able to juggle multiple projects at once, and possesses a strong customer service-oriented attitude.

Schedule

  • This is a part-time (10-20 hours per week), seasonal position for the college academic year (late July 2024 - May 2025).
  • NYC is preferred but not required.
  • The coordinator must commit to five consistent hours per week between 9am-5pm ET Monday - Friday for synchronous communication and collaboration (for example: Mondays 12-3pm and Thursdays 12-2pm
  • There is flexibility with the other hours, but must be agreed upon with the Sr. Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve new Loop applications 3x/week; flag issues to the Sr. Program Manager, as needed.
  • Update the primary list of College Loops 2x/week.
  • Review and approve Loops Fund applications 2x/week; organize inbound photo content.
  • Provide logistical support with 3 virtual events per semester on Zoom (i.e chat management, breakout rooms). Note: These events are evenings, typically 5-6pm ET.
  • Able to juggle multiple administrative projects at once and proactively communicate confusion, questions, and/or changes to plan.
  • Field and answer questions on our student-facing platforms; Zendesk, GroupMe, and Discord.
  • Support with 1-1 onboarding meetings and recording onboarding tutorials for potential new Loops.
  • Support Sr. Program Manager with preparation of monthly newsletter on Campaign Monitor.
  • Track and update list of College Loops’ social media accounts.
  • Capture key College Loops social media content, seek out student news, and share out in our internal College Loops Slack channel.
  • Organize, track and fulfill program incentive distribution; maintain detailed up to date records. 
  • Coordinate with our vendors to order new inventory or restock merchandise.
  • Monitor and track merchandise redemption codes.
  • Troubleshoot and reissue Loops Fund checks, as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Fastidious record-keeping and organization skills
  • Customer service oriented; possesses a helpful, can-do attitude
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to balance priorities and multiple projects
  • Experience with Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, Zendesk, GroupMe, and Discord preferred; or comfort with and enthusiasm for learning
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Laptop with camera and reliable, strong internet connection (if necessary, GWC may be able to provide loaner equipment)
  • Ability to meet with Sr. Project Manager during 9am-5pm ET hours
