POSITION SUMMARY

 

This is an exciting time for Community Catalyst with a new strategic plan and a new multi-year plan to grow the organization’s donor community in support of health justice goals. As part of a growing development team, the Development Coordinator will support a strategy to grow the individual giving program and the smooth operation of key administrative functions in the department. This includes acknowledging individual gifts, implementing donor stewardship and communication projects, providing logistical support for events and donor meetings, and serving as a backup for development operations. The Development Coordinator must handle sensitive and confidential board and donor information with discretion and help ensure the quality and integrity of donor data and donor communications.


This position is included in a collective bargaining unit represented by a staff union, Community Catalyst United, and specific employment terms may be subject to a future Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

Supervision:

The Development Coordinator reports to the Senior Individual Giving Officer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the production of solicitation and stewardship mailings and emails, including support for a monthly stewardship email series and at least two appeal series each year
  • Support planning for a series of cultivation and stewardship events that connect donors to Community Catalyst programs and mission
  • Produce acknowledgements for individual gifts
  • In coordination with Manager of Development Operations, conduct Salesforce data entry to maintain the accuracy and integrity of donor records and to support high quality revenue and portfolio reporting
  • Maintain strict protocols for managing confidential information
  • Serve as back-up for Manager of Development Operations in producing and maintaining regular Salesforce reporting and completing gift entry
  • Maintain Community Catalyst content on relevant websites that serve as resources for donors, such as Guidestar and Charity Navigator
  • Coordinate departmental meetings and logistics and as needed provide administrative support to the Director of Development and Deputy Director
  • Perform other duties as necessary to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience or 6 years of relevant experience. Development office experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including skills to prepare polished presentations, invitations, and correspondence; manage lists, spreadsheets and mail merges.
  • Database experience (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated commitment to producing high quality work.
  • Evidence of mature judgment, problem solving skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work successfully across a complex organization and willing to pitch in as needed.
  • Commitment to social justice and racial equity; interest in policy or policy advocacy preferred.


Salary & Benefits

§ Salary Range: $47,000-$52,000
