The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator. NAEYC is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age 8, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. NAEYC advances a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is a customer service representative who supports the work of NAEYC's early learning accreditation system. For more than 30 years, NAEYC has worked with early learning centers across the country to implement best practices and develop a consistent understanding of how to achieve and maintain high quality. The Quality Assurance Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring the quality of NAEYC accredited early learning programs which helps drive children's positive long-term outcomes in lie, including increased educational attainment, healthier lifestyles, and more successful careers.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator works with early learning program staff members to monitor early learning programs once they achieve accreditation to ensure programs are in compliance with NAEYC's Early Learning Program Accreditation Standards and Assessment Items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determines if incident(s) at early learning centers involve NAEYC accredited centers, and if so, if they are in violation of NAEYC's 72 Hour Notification Policy
  • Responds to all childcare programs submitting a 72 Hour Notification; reviews and analyzes all submitted incident documentation
  • Processes and analyzes possible violations of Required Items
  • Compiles and organizes all relevant documentation related to the incident(s) for review by the Scope and Severity Committee
  • Collaborates with program staff members to obtain additional information regarding the incident(s) under review when necessary

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3-4 years of clerical/administrative experience in a support role with increasing responsibilities
  • Prior experience working in early childhood education or a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excels in effective and positive interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills: written, verbal, listening
  • Ability to work independently following established processes and make decisions based on Early Learning Program's policies and procedures; thoroughly analyzes conditions of compliance for consistent decisions with team
  • Expresses empathy and provides clear and concise explanations
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems with tact, inclusive of the appropriate follow-up
  • Uses systematic methods to multi-task and maintain a responsive and professional demeanor
  • Demonstrates proficiency in needed computer skills - MS Office, database management

Physical Demands

There are specific physical demands that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. For example, walking and moving throughout a building, handling materials and objects, and communicating freely - writing, speaking, listening. Position Designation

This role is eligible for telework. This role may be eligible for 100% remote work outside the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Telework and remote work eligibility is subject to NAEYC's Telework and Remote Work Policy.
