About the Position

Exciting opportunity at CEL! The Assistant Employment Opportunities Manager will work with the employment team’s vision is that all CEL members who are seeking employment will secure jobs which match their career choice(s), where they are compensated fairly, and in which they are satisfied.


The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in developing and managing all aspects of the employment services division, including the planning, organization, development, management, and supervision of the program. The Assistant Manager will oversee the daily operations of CEL’s employment program, which includes but is not limited to, management of full and part time staff, facilitating the Department of Rehab Services (DRS) employment contracts billing, and case management, oversee caseload management of employment private pay customers and budget monitoring. Using best practices and member input, the Assistant Manager will develop working relationships with community employers that supports career development and competitive employment initiatives for the department.


This position will also hire, train, supervise, coordinate, schedule and evaluate employment staff. The Assistant Manager will ensure the Employment Specialist(s) and Job Coaches adhere to the above criteria.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate in Human Service/Social Service field; and at least two years related experience and/or training in supported/customized employment and management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of prior staff management experience
  • Public speaking experience
  • Possess a person-centered attitude
  • Experience working with the Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and knowledge of DRS policies and billing preferred
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Experience in community building and supported/customized employment
  • Knowledge of public services and funding streams available to persons with IDD
  • Knowledge of best practices in services related to the Development Disability population.
