In service of the overall mission and vision of the B Corp Movement, the Certification & Verification Team at B Lab manages the credible verification of adherence to B Lab’s high-quality, innovative, and impactful standards, products and the B Corp legal framework that encourage companies to measure, manage and improve their social and environmental performance, protecting the integrity and credibility of the B Corp Certification.

B Lab serves an increasing number of Large Enterprises and Multinationals requiring high-touch customer service and efficient project management. This Business Process Management Specialist will work directly key internal stakeholders to assist them in the process of guiding Large Enterprises & Multinational Companies through Pre-Verification and Verification Services, verifying Large Enterprises and Multinationals’ performance in our B Impact Assessment and issuing B Corporation Certification, Recertification and Site Reviews.

The  Business Process Management Specialist will be managing documents and resources for the team, communicating details of the process, confirming companies' status of certification, discerning companies’ preparedness and providing customer service. Specifically, they administer a variety of steps related to the Large Enterprise & MNC Certification Approach with internal B Lab network stakeholders and partners as well as directly with companies, including invoicing, scheduling, resource creation, and KPI reporting. The role reports to the Manager, Large Enterprise & MNC Process. By administering a variety of tasks related to the Certification & Verification process at B Lab, this Process Associate will enable companies at the forefront of sustainability to want to continue to learn and improve their social and environmental performance using B Lab's tools and offerings. This is an entry level role with room for growth. Internally, the Business Process Management Specialist is referenced as the Process Associate. 

Core Responsibilities of the Role

  • Process & project management support [60%]
    • Complete daily support services related to Large Enterprise & MNC Certification Approach 
    • Record and track team performance & success metrics 
    • Administer account invoicing for services started by Senior Business Sustainability Analysts 
    • Keep internal and external stakeholders up to date on key processes, i.e. on process updates or resource developments
    • Manage and optimize use of project management tools, technology platforms and software used 
    • Track, schedule and coordinate Large Enterprise & MNC Recertifications 
    • Be accountable for Large Enterprise & MNC Application administration: confirm receipt and enter new accounts into CRM
    • Create transparent assessment and disclosure reports for Certified Large Enterprise & MNC B Corp profiles on the B Corp Directory on www.bcorporation.net
  • Manage, organize and create Materials/Resources  [40%] 
    • Keep project plan and service templates updated
    • Support creation and maintenance of our knowledge base for application criteria, such as risk- and organizational structure-based eligibility factors 
    • Review, improve and update process-related documents & resources 
    • Participate in projects and efforts to improve product offerings and the team’s effectiveness

 

About You 

  • 1 year or more of experience in business process management and/or project management, preferably in a role with external facing customer or partner accountability
  • Experiential or educational knowledge of Business, Sustainability, Social Sciences and/or Environmental Studies
  • Track record of managing several projects that run concurrently while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and document management skills
  • Proactive & creative problem solver with the ability to discern when and who to involve when seeking a resolution
  • Ability to manage relationships and work collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, with excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills, particularly involving complex and technical topics
  • Volunteers to provide continual feedback and participate in special projects and efforts that contribute to improving our technology platforms, internal operations and certification processes 
  • Proficient in project management tools and Gantt charts like Asana
  • Proficient in Google suite, Microsoft suite and/or Mac equivalents (docs, sheets, slides, Adobe)
  • Experience working with a technology database, ideally Salesforce or other CRMs
  • Multinational industry knowledge

  • Have excellent customer service/customer success skills
  • Work collaboratively across your team, as well as other B Lab divisions and Global Partner teams
  • Be adaptable in an ever-changing work environment
  • Thrive in an independent work environment (attending virtual team meetings, virtual check-ins with manager, etc.) and be a self-starter
  • Have capacity and interest to learn tech platforms swiftly or are tech-savvy

Compensation Details

B Lab offers a compensation plan that includes:

  • An annual starting salary in the range of $44,900 - $46,900
  • Excellent health benefits package including access to medical, vision and dental coverage
  • Paid time off for vacation - in your first year, you’ll start with 3 weeks (prorated in a calendar year)
  • 403(b) with a match of up to 3%
  • Unlimited sick and personal time - if you need it, use it
  • After your first year of employment, 40 hours paid time off for community service; paid parental leave; and time and budget for your professional development (we assess this PD budget annually
  • A remote first workplace

Hiring Process
