Duties:
We are seeking a motivated individual that is interested in assisting CLW with current programs as well as developing new programs. In a small NGO like CLW, the incumbent will have ample opportunity to learn and actively participate in various aspects of our work. The incumbent will assist CLW with Chinese-English or English-Chinese translations, including CLW investigative reports and other materials for Chinese and English speaking audiences. The incumbent will carry out other tasks under the direction including seeking out and applying for funding opportunities, Bookkeeping, correspondence, and research. The intern will assist in administrative tasks when necessary.
We are especially interested in candidates who may be interested in staying past the three-month internship period.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be well-organized, self-motivated and reliable, with a strong interest in workers' human rights. Oral and written fluency in Chinese and proficiency in English is a must. Translation experience is desirable. Interest in Chinese labor issues is also desirable.
Time Commitment & Application Deadlines:
21 hours or 28 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. The position is available now and applications are considered on a rolling basis.
Stipend & School Credit:
After fulfilling three months of work, CLW will offer a stipend/wage of $16 hour to the intern. We can also work with interns so they can obtain academic credit or outside funding. A full-time position after the internship will depend on the performance of the candidate as well as available funding.
