Position Summary: This position will be responsible for supervising the daily activities of the on-site Summer Lunch and Backpack Program Centers. This position will assist with center design, set up and take down, delivery of program and management of all aspects of that center. Hours are Monday and Thursday from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for ten weeks during the summer with some pre- and post- work days required.
Program Summary: The Summer Lunch program provides lunch and afternoon “day camp” activities to children aged 4 -18 on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the summer. This program ensures nutritional consistency during the summer and a safe, fun environment for outdoor play. Each Thursday, all participants will receive a backpack filled with nutritional food for the weekend and school supplies on the last day.
Interns are needed to develop, implement and supervisor several of our activity centers during these program hours. A few examples would be an arts and crafts center, reading center, sports center, music center, technology center, etc. Activities may also include supervising the backpack delivery process each Thursday, as well as assisting with the pick-up of fruits and vegetables.
