Social Media Assistant

The VHL Alliance (VHLA) is seeking a motivated, resourceful, and enthusiastic person to serve as a Marketing and Social Media Assistant. This person will report to the VHLA’s Marketing Manager to strategize, craft, and execute content for all platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Applicants should have a strong level of experience with these channels, demonstrated writing ability, creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. 

As a marketing assistant, you will collaborate with our marketing and communications committee in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand, and maintain our marketing channels. 

Key Responsibilities: 

∙ Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback

∙ Strategize, craft, and execute content 

∙ Create campaigns based on what and how VHLA wants to communicate with our constituents and broaden our audience 

∙ Create and publish daily content for social media

∙ Grow followers and engagement across multiple platforms 

∙ Collect and analyze data  

∙ Prepare presentations as needed 

∙ Perform marketing analysis 

∙ Use marketing strategies using the latest tactics and tools 

Skills: 

∙ Must have a passion for marketing 

∙ Ability to multitask and take initiative 

∙ Familiar with Canva, InDesign, or other design software program

∙ Creative and open to new ideas 

∙ Experience with content creation a plus

∙ Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly

∙ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

∙ Attention to detail

∙ Self-starter, hardworking, and maintains a positive attitude

∙ Outstanding multitasking abilities 

∙ Ability to work independently as well as a on team 

∙ Excellent time management, organizational, and impersonal skills

∙ Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion 

∙ Completes other duties as assigned 

∙ Ability to work remote and have access to phone and computer 

Commitment: 

Approximately 5 hours a week. Pay is $18 / hour.
