Summary
Art in Tanzania works with corporations and governmental institutions to tackle natural and artificial environmental disasters.
Details
Art in Tanzania has been operating since 1996. Our community placements attract about 250 participants annually. Our vision is to give students hands-on experience working in developing African communities. In addition to your studies, you will have an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience of African culture and life, as well as fantastic nature and wildlife.
Disaster management needs to be better known, and the public needs to be educated about sister management issues.
Floods, earthquakes, landslides, diseases like malaria and cholera, hunger, poverty, deserts, global warming due to climate change, and industrial incidents caused by poor health and safety in the workplace affect people and their properties.
This program aims to educate and build Tanzanian people about resilience from the early stage to the last set of disaster management, such as mitigation, preparedness, response, and prevention at schools and public shares, with the help of various governmental and non-governmental institutions.
We work with entities such as Twiga Cement Industries, Coca-cola, the Tanzania government, NBC Bank, PVC, and AG-Energies Company Ltd. We are extending our program to work with the United Nations Organization.
This program has a cross-cutting focus where the students of different professionals can attend and work together.
Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
The program is ongoing, so the start dates are adjustable. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower our daily work with the communities.
Daily tasks include practical fieldwork, planning, reporting, and visibility work.
The start and end dates are flexible as all programs are ongoing, many since 1996.
You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable safaris and tours.
We commonly have 15-40 students from different parts of the world, from over 400 universities we cooperate with, and representing a variety of professions.
The Benefits and Perks are as follows:
