    The National Consumer Law Center® (NCLC) is seeking an Intern to provide customer service support to our publications department. This is a part time, paid internship that can be performed remotely. Work must be performed from Massachusetts. 

    Founded in 1969, NCLC is a nonprofit advocacy organization that seeks to build economic security and family wealth for low-income and other economically disadvantaged Americans. NCLC is the leading source of legal and public policy expertise on consumer issues for lawyers, federal and state policymakers, consumer advocates, journalists, and front-line service providers.

     NCLC is also an active online and print publisher with a dynamic digital platform that integrates content, a bookstore, a subscription service, and other e-commerce features. NCLC releases approximately 21 updated and new titles a year for thousands of lawyers and consumers. Please see our website at www.nclc.org.

     

    Principal Responsibilities include:

    • Provide customer service via email
    • Monitor customer service inbox, triage emails, and respond to emails in a timely fashion
    • Process new orders, refunds, adjustments, credits, etc.
    • Manage subscription, customer information, order changes, and other customer service issues
    • Maintain and clean data in e-commerce and publications accounting systems as time allows

    Qualifications:

    • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or community college.
    • Ability to work remotely and independently.
    • Exceptional written communication skills; careful attention to detail.
    • Strong computer literacy and comfort operating multiple computer programs at once. 
    • Customer service experience. 

    Salary: $17.50 per hour

    Schedule: 10 hours a week; flexible hours available. Hours available through the end of the fall semester, with potential to continue into 2025. Please specify your availability in your cover letter.
