Acerca de

Binaytara Foundation (BTF) was created to improve healthcare in resource poor communities and improve cancer care worldwide.

BTF focuses on reducing health disparities and promoting health equity in the United States and abroad.

The organization educates healthcare providers and community members, advocates for better access to care, and creates innovative program models and services that improve access to care.

Through international partnerships and collaborations BTF has:

  • Supported establishment of the first and only bone marrow transplant center in Nepal at the Civil service Hospital In Kathmandu.
  • Supported capacity building for 51 hospice and palliative care programs in Madhya Pradesh, India
  • Helped start a cervical cancer screening program for women in Nepal

In 2018, the foundation opened the Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center (BTFCC) in Janakpur, Nepal.

The 25-bed cancer hospital is the first and only cancer hospital in Province 2, a state with more than six million people.  BTF has a goal to raise $12 million to build the first phase of a new 200 bed hospital in Janakpur to serve patients in an area of 25 million people in Nepal and the neighboring Indian state of Bihar. The new hospital would have capacity to serve 20,000 patients a year.

In the United States, BTF is focused on cancer education to reduce cancer care inequities.

BTF offers continuing medical education programs to improve physician competence and performance leading to improved patient outcomes. It is the fastest growing oncology continuing education provider in the United States.

Community oncologists in the U.S. who do not have time or the opportunity to travel and attend conferences can access online conferences offering the latest information on cancer care.

The BTF’s in-person and virtual conferences on hematology oncology and cancer disparity summits have provided hundreds of hours of continuing medical education to nearly thousands of oncologists and other cancer care providers worldwide in the last 8 years.

Since 2017, BTF has held free quarterly cancer education and awareness programs for the public in Washington State. There are plans to expand these cancer education programs through virtual platforms and incorporating innovative, interactive educational methods such as gamification.
