Yale Heart Study

Help Us Help Others!

The mission of the Yale Heart Study is to better understand factors contributing to patient treatment delay. We want to help people obtain care as quickly as possible when they're experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. Our study focuses on all phases of delay from the onset of symptoms to the initiation of definitive therapy in the hospital emergency department.

How to Help?

If you're a heart attack survivor, we're asking you to share your experience with us by filling out our online survey. Participation in this study is completely anonymous. Your time commitment is a worthwhile investment and others will benefit by your sharing. Your time is valuable so we've created a self-tailored survey to ensure that you're only answering questions that are relevant to your experience. This study has been approved by the Yale University Institutional Review Board and is funded by the National Institutes of Health.

If you haven't experienced a heart attack but know someone who has, we ask you to refer them to the Heart Study web site. By helping your Mom, Dad, other family memebrs or neighbors complete the survey, you can receive a Yale Heart Study Community Service Certificate.*

While our primary goal is to recruit participants, we recognize the need for education surrounding heart disease. From that idea the YHS team created the Yale Heart Study Facebook and Twitter pages as a resource for everyone who's interested in learning more about cardiovascular health.
