Animal Defense Partnership

Animal Defense Partnership (ADP) provides free legal services to nonprofits that protect animals, including advocates, sanctuaries and rescues. We do our clients’ legal work for free so they can put their resources to best use protecting and advocating for animals while receiving top quality legal services in support of their mission. We either do this work ourselves or in conjunction with the pro bono departments of several major U.S. law firms.

ADP functions as both outside general counsel and consultant assisting clients on a range of issues, including non-profit compliance, governance and structuring; litigation avoidance; employment best practices and disputes; contract drafting, review, and negotiation; intellectual property protection; rights clearances; fiscal sponsorships; and privacy protection. Although not the primary focus of its practice, ADP also does advocacy work on various animal causes.
