Harvard Clinical Research Institute’s (HCRI) mission is to improve health and quality of life by collaborating with academic and industry sponsors to conduct high-quality clinical research in a professionally nurturing and world-class academic environment.

HCRI began as a joint venture of Harvard Medical School, Partners Healthcare System and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  HCRI collaborates with a diverse network of academic researchers to offer expertise in a broad range of therapeutic areas.

HCRI advances the research of pharmaceutical, biological and medical device products, providing an efficient integration of academic expertise and industry business objectives. HCRI offers its industry sponsors access to valuable scientific leadership, focused operational research functionality and analysis of high-quality clinical trial data. HCRI-affiliated faculty members provide insight into the impact, safety and practicality of emerging products. Their participation in study design and analysis of clinical data can add value to the development of new products and adoption by the medical community. As a leading provider of clinical trial services, and data analysis, HCRI plays an important role in assessing new products that improve the quality of peoples’ lives.

HCRI employs approximately 200 professionals across numerous research-related fields including biostatistics, data management, project management, clinical event management, safety oversight, and site management and monitoring, as well as support services, including data systems management and development, financial management, proposal development, and quality systems. The Institute collaborates with renowned researchers and organizations around the world.

HCRI is a 501(c)(3) Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation, and as such, is actively involved in giving back to the research and medical community. HCRI supports the philanthropic pursuits of its employees and has established HCRI Cares to support and coordinate these activities throughout the greater Boston area and beyond.
