DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance is the voice of the disease management and care coordination community and the nation's only association effectively representing all stakeholders in chronic disease care.

The creation of DMAA in March 1999 reflected the robust growth of disease management in the United States, which continues to this day. The increasing number of stakeholders dependent on the promise of disease management for cost-effective, quality health care in the next millennium created a need for a single voice and a more scientific approach to the measurement of the success of disease management programs.

DMAA has more than 160 corporate members, including disease management organizations and support organizations; health plans; benefits administrators; employers and other purchasers; pharmaceutical manufacturers; pharmacy benefit managers; software providers; and hospitals and home health providers. We also have more than 50 individual members from government, academic and research institutions.

With the support of its membership, DMAA is an influential force in public policy and private markets; a recognized leader in innovative assessment tools; a provider of premier educational programming; and a reliable source of timely research, news and authoritative publications. DMAA utilizes the strength of corporate leaders, recognized experts and committed staff to serve as an effective advocate and to advance the interests of its members.

Our track record speaks for itself. The DMAA led efforts on Capitol Hill for disease management and care coordination in Medicare. We successfully fought for modifications to federal privacy regulations to preserve the flow of information between patients and providers. We remain, today, the go-to source for policy makers when chronic disease management issues arise. As health information technology, quality and outcomes, and other frontline issues frame public debate, the DMAA will respond as the leading advocate for chronic disease care.
