Hearts & Homes for Refugees is a nonprofit community grassroots organization that works with the U.S. State Department-designated agencies to build communities that welcome, assist and advocate for refugees. POSITION:
Entirely remote. Estimated 10-15 hours per week. This is a volunteer position - a minimum 3 month commitment is requested.
This position will support the SIV Assistance Project, which helps eligible Afghans to complete and monitor their SIV application. The project has around 25 active volunteers who help contact former supervisors for Letters of Recommendation, contact former employers for employment verification letters, put Congressional Inquiries into stalled cases, contact supervisors for support inquiring on cases, and organize spreadsheets and files for submission to relocation lists.
The volunteer will report to Hearts & Homes for Refugees Program Director, Amy Robertson.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Must be comfortable with Google Suite (using Sheets, uploading files) and Excel. Experience with the SIV application process preferred.
