Latina Mentoring Initiative - East Harlem
The Latina Mentoring Initiative (LMI) was created to level the playing field for young Latinas. New York State Mentoring Program (NYSMP) is honored to roll out this initiative to schools, nonprofits, and foster care agencies statewide. We will provide virtual and hybrid, supervised, one-to-one mentoring to youth ages 8 to 21. Latina mentors will be matched with mentees to empower and support youth by promoting self-advocacy, building soft skills & confidence, and nurturing aspirations.

In order to be matched with a mentee, all volunteers must complete the following steps:
- Submit an Application
- Attend a New Mentor Training.
- Background Check- Including fingerprinting
- Reference Checks
