Communications Officer (Online Opportunity)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Officer to join us at the Written Support Ecrit SB Foundation. The Communications Officer’s responsibilities include overseeing and updating the website/social media accounts to target the correct audience, designing format and determining topics for the ‘blog section’ of the website, and assisting the Vice President in implementing an effective strategy to connect volunteers to users. To be a successful Communications Officer, you should have confident management skills, good verbal and written communication, and proficiency in innovative content creation. You should have a high interest in community involvement. Having communications experience working in a community or professional setting is considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Proficient and experience in content creation and management 
• Degree or diploma from a university or college; preferably in communications, journalism or related fields
• Experience working in teams through community or professional setting
• Requires reliable access to a personal computer and internet
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication abilities

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Update the website and the social media accounts as required based on our target audience 
• Work with Vice President to develop a communication strategy between members and users 
• Design the format and determine topics to address for the ‘blog section’  
• Assist in implementation of an effective strategy to connect the members/volunteers to the users 
• Able to give atleast 3 hours per week to participate in activities, e.g. meetings and volunteering as reviewer, related to the foundation. The hours may fluctuate
