Volunteer Valet Parking Driver

Volunteer Valet Parking Driver Job Description:

During Kennedy Center Honors weekend, Honors Production Staff needs volunteers to assist as Volunteer Valet Drivers parking the cars that are brought to the Kennedy Center by talent escorts in the garage or designated area and retrieve them as needed. The cars are usually large SUVs. Please keep in mind interaction with talent is strictly prohibited.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years old or older;
• Attend Honors Virtual Orientation on December 1, 5-6pm;
• Valid driver’s license, and ability to drive at night;
• Ability to drive large SUVs (short drive);
• Lots of walking between outdoor and indoor spaces;
• Dress appropriately (volunteers will be in and out of the building).

Day of Volunteering:

Volunteers are to report at least 15 minutes prior to the shift start time for further instructions.

Event Overview:

The Kennedy Center Honors are annual honors given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture. They have been presented annually since 1978, culminating each December in a gala celebrating five Honorees in the Kennedy Center Opera House.

This year's Honorees are: country music icon George Strait, legendary rock band KISS (Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, Ace Frehley), Tony-award winning stage and screen star Michael Crawford, Grammy-winning disco pioneer Gloria Gaynor, blockbuster film powerhouse and Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone.
