Construction Volunteer Opportunity with Beaches Habitat for Humanity

Beaches Habitat for Humanity is an organization that provides opportunities to volunteer in several different areas and partners with people in our local community to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Construction volunteers assist with all stages of construction throughout the year to help build decent, affordable homes for our future homeowners. As a part of the construction volunteer team, you will be able to contribute to the various aspects of home building. As a volunteer be prepared to meet new friends, learn new skills, make a difference in your community.

OUR MISSION AND HOW YOU FIT INTO IT: Beaches Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Your role as a volunteer will include contributing to the construction of the Beaches Habitat for Humanity homes, which will be safe, decent, and affordable homes for hardworking families who need an affordable place to live. 

Tasks vary and may include:

·        Site preparation

·        Foundation work

·        Framing

·        Flooring

·        Insulation

·        Drywall

·        Roofing

·        Siding

·        Painting

·        Clean-up and maintenance

Qualifications and Training Requirements:

All Construction Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

No experience necessary! Habitat homes are built by willing hands and loving hearts. Anyone who can swing a hammer or set a block in place is welcome to the work of the Beaches Habitat for Humanity. Our site supervisor are happy to provide and teach any skills you may need.

Shift Information:

·        Tuesdays- Fridays, 8:00am- 12:00pm

·        Saturdays, 8:30am- 12:30pm.

·        Snacks and water will be provided.

·        Work boot or athletic shoes required

·        Tools and safety equipment provided

·        Snacks may include a variety of chips, crackers, and protein/ granola bars.
