Who We Are

Synergy Family Services (SFS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing wraparound support services to adopted youth and their families at risk of out-of-home placement. Our mission is to ensure that every child and family we serve receives the comprehensive care and support they need to thrive. We are committed to creating a positive, lasting impact in the communities we serve by fostering healthy family dynamics, promoting mental wellness, and enhancing access to resources and services.

What We’ve Accomplished Since July 2023

Since July 2023, Synergy Family Services has made significant strides in fulfilling our mission and expanding our reach within the community. Here are some of our key accomplishments:

• Initial Business Start-Up: We have started and established Synergy Family Services. Our company is staffed to maintain necessary operations, and we have a foundational Board of Directors. We have created manuals, an employee handbook, and job duties/descriptions for staff members. A bank account was established and maintained by a trained bookkeeper for the entire business time.
• Expansion of Services: We have started expanding our services to include not only Mendocino County but also Humboldt, Del Norte, and Butte counties. This expansion has allowed us to support more families and children in need, providing them with the resources and care they deserve.
• Training and Development: We have focused on the professional development of our staff, ensuring that they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and mental health best practices. This has enhanced the quality of care we provide for our clients. We have brought on a Wraparound Consultant to help us stay up-to-date and regularly train on Wraparound Compliance to continually ensure the highest quality of care for the families we are serving.

Our Vision for the Future

At Synergy Family Services, we are driven by a vision of a future where every adopted child can grow up in a loving, stable, and supportive environment, with the tools that they and their families need to continue to thrive after their time with us is over. Our goals for the coming years include:

• Expanding Our Reach: We plan to further extend our services to additional counties across Mendocino County, Humboldt County, Lake County, and Sonoma County, reaching even more families in need of our support.
• Innovative Programs: We are committed to developing new and innovative programs that address the evolving needs of the families we serve. This includes launching new mental health initiatives, expanding our educational/school-based offerings, and increasing access to community resources.
• Community Engagement: We’d like to implement various programs, including educational series, retreats, and mental health services, to engage with community families. These initiatives will provide crucial support, education, and respite for families navigating the complexities of adoption and mental health challenges.
• Fundraising Success: We’d like to implement fundraising efforts, enabling us to raise the necessary funds to continue and expand our services. These funds will be reinvested into our programs, ensuring that we can provide high-quality care to those who need it most.
• Building Stronger Partnerships: We aim to strengthen our partnerships with local schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to create a more integrated support network for our clients. By working together, we can provide more comprehensive care and better outcomes for families.
• Sustainable Growth: As we grow, we are focused on ensuring that our expansion is sustainable and that we continue to provide high-quality services. This includes investing in staff training, improving our infrastructure, and securing ongoing funding to support our programs.
